New York City, we’re officially making our return, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring Sumo + Sushi back to the big apple. 

Sumo + Sushi is equal parts education and entertainment: a live, high-impact experience that brings the ancient sport of sumo to life through storytelling from legendary host Konishiki, live exhibition matches, and an atmosphere that’s bold, immersive, and unforgettable. Add incredible sushi, and you’ve got a night unlike anything else in the city.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Sumo + Sushi is equal parts education and entertainment! The show is 90 minutes in length with two brief intermissions.

You’ll learn about the history, rules, and culture of sumo, followed by a demonstration of winning and forbidden moves.

If you get a Sushi + The Show or Front Row ticket, you’ll enjoy a locally curated sushi bento box during the show. For VIP Sky Suite guests, you will have a dedicated chef rolling sushi all night long! Menu coming soon. View sample menu here.

Throughout the night, Konishiki will share stories from his fifteen-year career and answer questions from the audience. The show ends with live matches where you can cheer on your favorite wrestler!

KONISHIKI

The most genuine way to learn about Sumo is from a former Sumo wrestler who has lived and breathed the experience firsthand. We’re proud to partner with Konishiki who will host Sumo + Sushi! He is the first non-Japanese-born wrestler to reach ōzeki, the second highest rank in Sumo. Throughout his legendary career, he won the top division championship three times.

After retirement, Konishiki honors his Hawaiian roots through live musical performances and has released many albums as a Hawaiian singer. He also consistently gives back to his community through the Konishiki Kids Foundation to help underprivileged children from Hawaii to experience Japanese culture.

We have several ticket tiers available with different inclusions and proximity to the ring. Please note that seating sections are exclusive to ticket type.  Groups wishing to sit together should arrive together and must purchase the same ticket type.

Get in the ring with a wrestler for a match! This is available as an add-on to any ticket and MUST accompany a paid ticket within any other tier. Extremely limited- only 6 guests per session!
