Alexxis Falcon reigned supreme to retain her PROGRESS Women’s World Championship title as Chapter 190: In Brightest Day served up another action packed show of shocks and surprises!
In front of a packed crowd in the capital, Falcon successfully made her first title defence after capturing the title last month against Rayne Leverkusen, as she beat former champion and ally Rhio, but in controversial fashion putting their friendship in real jeopardy and leaving no doubt she will do whatever is needed to remain as champion.
It was the first time in PROGRESS Wrestling history that the last three main events have been Women’s Championship matches, further demonstrating PROGRESS is providing the platform for elite female wrestlers to showcase their talent on a global scene.
Meanwhile, in the men’s division, there was plenty of twists and turns, as to the shock of the PROGRESS crowd, men’s champion, Man Like Dereiss was pinned for the very first time since he won the gold.
Partnering with one of the absolute best in Britain, Michael Oku, they faced the most experienced tag team in British wrestling in the form of Lykos Gym.
Kid Lykos pinned the Men’s World Champion, so does that now put him firmly as the number one contender for the belt?
There was a title change at Chapter 190, as Gene Munny wrote his name into PROGRESS Wrestling history as he joined Gunther, who recently retired wrestling greats John Cena and AJ Styles in becoming a become the only multi-time ATLAS Championship winner.
The only other man to achieve this feat alongside the newly crowned Munny, and Gunther, otherwise known as Walter in PROGRESS, is former WWE star, Matt Riddle.
After lots of antics by Session Moth Martina, who accompanied the defending champion, Saxon Huxley to the ring, it was Munny who had the last laugh to become a two time ATLAS champion with his tag partner, Kouga, removing Session Moth from ringside, Martina re-appeared seemingly to keep the family together.
To Super Strong Style 16, Simon Miller faced long-time rival Josh Holly in a first round qualifying match. The tension has been rising for months between both men, but it was Miller that punched his ticket into the next round and claimed the win.
Back to tag team action, and the gold was on the line once again, as champions Diamond Eyes elected to use the free bird rule with Jay Joshua replacing Connor Mills to team with Nico Angelo (Nico Angelo and Connor Mills), retained after what can only be described as a chaotic match held under tornado tag conditions against former champions, the Sunshine Machine.
Diamond Eyes’ victory continued their recent dominance. Can they be stopped as we head further into 2026? Time will tell.
Elsewhere, Maddy Morgan, who recently featured in the Lancashire Post to tell her wrestling story, was victorious against the debuting Aluna in a Hooked On Wrestling TV bonus match for PROGRESS.
Super Strong Style 16 first round action next waits Maddy in WxW in Hamburg in less than a week’s time when she faces Stephanie Maze.
Charles Crowley’s mystery opponent proved to be Drew Parker, with Crowley collecting the W with Crowley stating that he is ready for Super Strong Style 16. His first-round match will take place in France against Tucker.
Meanwhile, another clash which was riding high on emotions saw Spike Trivet compete against former friend, now turned nemesis, Bullit. It was the latter who walked away from the Electric Ballroom with a smile on his face as he pinned the Sovereign Lord! This was far from a Dominatus Regnum Reunion.
