The UFC will be hosting a historic event on the South Lawn of the White House on Sunday, June 14.
According to a report from MMA Fighting, this event could be costing the promotion approximately $60 million to put together. There is no word yet if the fighter salaries are a part of the $60 million or if that is a separate fund.
MMA Fighting is also reporting that the event is facing a host of logistical issues, including the seating arrangements for those attending the event, how many people will actually be attending the event, plus the space and weight of the Octagon and bleachers, which could cause issues for the “extensive network of tunnels and bunkers and security stuff that sits beneath the south lawn at the White House.”
The report also suggests that the fighters will be making their entrance from the Oval Office. It should also be noted that 1,000 members of the audience are expected to be members of the military, and anybody who attends the event must go through an extensive security clearance.
