Kyle Daukaus will no longer be fighting Vicente Luque at UFC 327, replacing him in that bout will be Kelvin Gastelum.
The news was announced during the UFC Mexico City broadcast.
Luque (23-12-1) is making his UFC Middleweight Division debut in this bout, having previous competed at welterweight. Luque has won just two of his last seven in the UFC, with those wins coming over Rafael Dos Anjos and Themba Gorimbo. Luque hasn’t put a winning streak together in over five years and his last such streak lasted for four fights.
Gastelum (20-10-0, 1NC) has won three of his last seven in the UFC, with those wins coming over Chris Curtis, Daniel Rodriguez, and Dustin Stoltzfus. Gastelum previously fought for the UFC Interim Middleweight Championship, losing to Israel Adesanya at UFC 236. Gastelum was the UFC Ultimate Fighter 17 Middleweight Champion, defeating Uriah Hall in the finals of the reality show.
UFC 327 takes place on Saturday, April 11 from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida with Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on Paramount+.
