MORE FEEDBACK ON TNA IMPACT AND KURT ANGLE

By PWInsiderXtra Readers on 10/21/2006 1:30 AM
This was in my opinion the best TNA edition of Impact in a awhile. The ending Bound for Glory video with Fozzy, got me ready to see the PPV. It was great from top to bottom. I enjoyed Lethal imitating Senshi, and boy did Senshi stiff Lethal when he put his head in the locker. Nash and Shelly make a great duo, I cracked up with the Hall and Hogan mention. Now the ending was my favorite wrestling angle/confrontation this year and in TNA history. I'll put this ahead of the Dudley's Funeral, and the LAX beat down of Styles and Daniels. Well that angle and Fozzy's video just got me to put down 30 bucks for Glory by Honor.

Over all I would have to say that this has been probably one of my favorite Impacts. I thought it was a great show to set up for this Sundays Bound for Glory.

I like the Monsters Ball set up I just think that since Samoa Joe is also in the title angle, he hasn't been involved enough in this feud. Hopefully he won't win at BFG and maybe Jarrett or Angle will cost him the match to get him away from having meaningless feuds. The Christian Cage/ Norman Smiley match was what I expected; it was cool to see Shark Boy coming out for the save first, and him getting laid out as well. I wish that they would have had a match for Rhino too, but they only have an hour to jam pack a show. I like Senshi/ Jay Lethal and thought attacking him and Sonjay Dutt was awesome. Go head and get rid of all that jackass stuff and focus on what made the division what it is, wrestling. I like the brawl with Chris Sabin after the match, with Senshi getting the advantage before BFG. Kevin Nash/Alex Shelley, that promo was pretty funny. The eight man tag was great, and it was good seeing Styles/Daniels get the win, because they are probably going to lose at BFG. I thought the massacre on AMW was great and it gives LAX more heat. Samoa Joe/Kurt Angle was one of the best parts of the show. I thought they should that both men are tough as hell and when they finally get in the ring one-on-one its going to be an explosion. I like Jeff Jarrett looking at the belt, like it might be the last time he gets to hold it. All in all it was great.

This is regarding Kurt Angle's Conference Call.

Boy, talk about thinking big on yourself. I have always been a fan of Kurt Angle. I always thought his passion for the business came shining through in everything he did. Whether it was a five star in ring performance or an intense promo, I felt he was one the best in the game at being able to encompass what "Sports Entertainment" truly was. But after listening to the TNA Conference Call today, I no longer believe this to be true. Don't get me wrong, I still believe he has the ability to be the among the best in the world. But sometimes hearing the man behind the scenes can completely destroy your outlook of him. Kurt truly believes he is the man. He believes he is the savior of wrestling today. His comment "I am the best wrestler in the world today" made me laugh. He is great, maybe even the best. You could definitely argue that point.

But it sounded more to me like he was trying to build himself up to the ears of every one that was listening. He talked of how the WWE should have let Kurt carry the ball and they would not. Correct me if I am wrong here Kurt but were you not a multiple time WWE champion? What is the symbol of being the man to carry the ball in the world of pro wrestling? Holding the top belt in an organization is that symbol. You had your chances Kurt and each time something happened. Be it someone else was chosen because you did not do as well as those in power thought you would, or you got injured. But make no mistake, you were given your chance, Kurt. Then Kurt discusses how Vince did not want him to go. What do you expect? Kurt Angle is still one of the biggest names in the business. Who would want him to leave? Do you think Vince wanted the Rock to go do movies? Do you think he wanted Stone Cold to leave the company and pursue outside interests? Hell no! But life moves on. New stars can be created. Kurt Angle is an example of that. Once Rock and Austin moved on Kurt was given even more of an opportunity to be the man.

You will be replaced in WWE, Kurt. Make no mistake about that. We are talking about Vince McMahon. For as much an evil as he may be for the state of Pro Wrestling today, it also would not be here today without him. Don't ever forget that Kurt. All in all, Kurt Angle is one of the best wrestlers in the world today. He is an asset that gives TNA a true chance to become "big league". Samoa Joe, Sting, Christian, everyone else aside. Kurt Angle is TNA's biggest hope to date. Their chance to become a legitimate threat to WWE rests squarely on his neck and shoulders. Hmm. Long odds indeed.
