MORE MIXED FEEDBACK TO TNA IMPACT

By PWInsiderXtra Readers on 10/28/2006 3:23 PM
I found this show to be incredibly boring. The opening with Sting & Christian almost put me to sleep. The reverse battle royal really lacked any real logic. I mean, come on, if you have the opportunity to get into the ring you are not going to go over and fight with someone. Really stupid concept. After the 7 (finally) made it in the ring, I fell asleep.

I try to make sure to catch Impact every week. On a good week, they provide more quality wrestling in one hour than Raw does in two. Less filler as well. This is my first attempt at feedback.

First of all, the on-air talent is over-used to push storylines. One example, out of..well...pretty much every time they open their mouths:

Do we really need Don and Mike to act shocked and tell us, could it be, why yes I think it is, that's BLOOD coming out of Shane Douglas' Mouth!!!!

Wait a minute, is he smiling?!!? I think he is - YES! Shane Douglas is smiling!

Please just shut up.

We get it.

I liked the bit, overall, and was glad to see Shane get smacked down. His twitching and delayed bleeding could have been done better. The speed at which an already beat down LAX dispatched the Naturals, however, really didn't do the Naturals push any favors.

The reverse battle royal was a mess, from a home-viewing standpoint. at least with a normal battle royal, the action's all in one place. Not a fan of battle royals to begin with, but trying to capture the action through lots of quick camera edits, and the incessant yammering of Don and Mike - headache inducing. and not very exciting wrestling.

I actually liked the interview piece with Jeff Jarrett. It seemed TOO abrupt of a direction change for him, but he sold it well, and it was effective. It's the first time I haven't used his mic time to go to the bathroom, iron clothes, let the dog out, etc., in a long time.

The bit between Sting and Christian served no real purpose, given the goofy battle royal had already been announced. The Paparazzi production segment took up valuable TV time. Wanna develop a feud between Shelley and Starr, with goal being a Shelley face turn? Try doing it in the ring.

Angle / Samoa Joe: I know I'm probably in the minority, but having two wrestlers overpower 20 guys just to get at each other, makes those 20 look ineffectual, as much as it shows the intensity of the two. That being said, I'm looking forward to seeing the match up, and have become a bigger Samoa Joe fan.

I really wish the production folks would decide NOT to cut to consistently cut to commercials, right after matches start.

For TNA to really go to the next level, to be competitive with WWE, they're going to have to work on their production quality, and their announcing team.

The in-ring talent is certainly there.

Hey Guys, So, Im not a big TNA fan. I watched a few of the Wednesday night PPV's, and a few iMPACT!'s a while back, but nothing real great. I got a hold of a copy of Bound For Glory though, and I watched it and then proceeded to watch iMPACT! Last night..so here's what I think of everything, as I was actually entertained... Kurt Angle v. Samoa Joe is gonna be great! All the matches I saw were good, though the Fight For Your Right Tournament seems to be getting off to a confusing start. I get it, but it took awhile to figure it out, as they explained it so fast it was hard to keep up. Jeff Jarrets face turn is making him look like a big wuss. Why aren't Samoa Joe or Angle contenders for the belt, besides the fact that they need to fight each other?
