THE CRYSTAL BALL LOOKS AT THE FUTURE FOR THE BIG SHOW

Just got done watching Monday night RAW and I had a few questions.  Questions that I knew could only be answered by dusting off my Crystal Ball.  Now normally I only break out the Crystal Ball for important things, like filing my taxes and filling out my March Madness brackets.  However, I thought what the heck, lets break out the ball and see what it reveals about the future of - The “Big Slow”…I mean “Show”.  Interesting thing happened.  My Crystal Ball started at Wrestlemania 23 and worked its way backwards to Cyber Sunday.  Maybe my Crystal Ball should apply for a job at WWE creative.

So here is a Recap of what I saw as my Crystal Ball reveals – The Big Show

Wrestlemania 23… The “Immortal Hulk Hogan” vs. The “Big Show”

The Big Show dominates the match early.  He looks like a Monster because they took him off TV for 3 months, and since he has been back they have built him up with squash matches and having everyone quiver when he comes around.  Inevitably though Hogan “Hulks up” and ends the match by lifting the 700lbs. “Big Show” over his head and slamming him in front of 1.3 million people live in attendance at Ford Field.  As you are about read, it is an anticlimactic finish for a guy who will remain active on the roster (Big Show) while the “Immortal” one goes back to VH1.

Monday Night RAW, the very next day after The Royal Rumble.  The “Big Show” is on TV telling us how he is the largest athlete in the world and the only “True” Giant.  Hogan (who is there promoting Nick's new Rap album, Linda’s new line of handbags, Brooke's cover of “Stuff” magazine and the 4^th season of “Hogan Knows Best”) sorry what was I saying.... Oh yeah, Hogan gets in “Big Show's” face to let him know that he is nothing compared to Andre, yada yada yada.  And the fuse is lit, and the feud is started.  We see them start building to WM23.

Royal Rumble… Half to 2/3 of the way through the “Rumble” (when the most amount of men are in the ring).  We finally get to see the “Big” surprise that WWE has been teasing for weeks.  As the “Big Slow’s” music hits and he makes his way to the ring (Oddly enough the “Timer” conveniently malfunctions, giving “Big Slow” time to get to the ring before the next wrestler comes out.  No way he could have made it into the ring in under 90 seconds!).  “Big Show” hasn’t been seen in months and his reintroduction to us is as an “Immovable Object” (Which is scientifically true when he is seated at a dinner table!). “Big Show” cleans house and the word “Giant” begins to get over used by every person on TV who mentions him.  However, the rest of the roster does what’s good for business and they really sell him like he is the 2^nd coming of Andre.

Monday November 6^th – Raw.  RAW opens with The WWE Champion John Cena, where he talks about how hard the match with King Booker & The “Big Show” was the night before at Cyber Sunday.  Todd Grisham then reveals that the “Big Show” nearly ruptured every disc in his back after being “F-U’ed” By John Cena.  This then leads to “Big Show” being gone from our TV sets until he “magically” reappears at the Royal Rumble.  We are also told how the Elimination Chamber match at “December to Dismember” will be for the vacated ECW Title.

Cyber Sunday, Sunday Nov. 5^th 2006 – Fans vote to put John Cena’s WWE Title on the line, there are a ton of false finishes, but it ends when Booker T is knocked off the ring apron by the “Big Show” as he is coming off the ropes, Cena uses “Big Show's” momentum to pick him up and give him the “FU” for the win.  No Titles change hands, but “Big Show” sells the slam and is helped to the back by 37 Refs and Agents…I mean “Producers”.

So here is the logic according to my Crystal Ball.  They need to get the title off of “Big Show” without weakening him anymore.  Obviously it makes no sense to keep it on him since he needs time to heal, and will be losing to Hogan anyways.  Right now the only thing “Giant” associated with him is his Bowling Shirt from a couple ofweeks ago.  They need to give him time to rest his truly bad back, and weakening knees.  The time off of TV will help to erase some of the more recent memories (Hell in a Cell where he and 2 partners couldn’t beat the 2 man team of DX) And it will allow WWE to reprogram us after he returns.  Royal Rumble is a great place to “Showcase” him as an “Indestructible” Giant.  It will also allow for a change in appearance, music, reaction from talent and even what they call him (the Giant Show?) whatever is needed to build momentum for the 20^th anniversary of WM3 when Hogan beat Andre clean in the middle of the ring after body slamming him.

I guess we will see just how “Crystal Clear” my “Crystal Ball” really is over the next few months.  What we do know, is that as of now “Big Show” has a job until Wrestlemania 23.  What we don’t know is what will WWE do with him the day after?  Not even a Crystal Ball can tell us that.
