MIXED FEEDBACK TO CYBER SUNDAY, BUT NO LOVE FOR K-FED

By PWInsiderXtra Readers on 11/6/2006 9:31 AM

Just was at the show and have to say that Flair and Piper got the loudest cheer ever, followed by DX. I really loved the DX promo, it was great.

Hey Yo.....Survey says; It's one of the better WWE PPV's !

Umaga vs Kane was a good opening match. Surprised that Sandman got more votes than Benoit.. Kane winning the votes could mean the votes were rigged.

4 way tag team match; 5 minutes for this match = WTF ?? It was too short to say anything good about it

Carlito vs Jeff Hardy was another good & long match..Carlito winning by a landslide makes me think "rigged" AGAIN..

Dx vs Edge/Orton was a match that perhaps was the PPV's most disappointing match. Only thing good about it was that DX didn't win...It say's a lot about Shawn Michaels when last week "super HHH" dominated Edge & Orton by himself, but this time they lost...

Mickie James vs Lita; The only logical option won, but it was a good match until the botched DDT, even JR asked what that was supposed to be.

Tag Title match; This was an ok match..Not too thrilled about the old timers winning the titles....Is this WCW again?

Booker T vs Cena vs Big Show; long and at times a great match. Booker saved this match from bombing...

It speaks volumes of WWE's current state when K-Fed & Ron Simmons are the most entertaining things on the "a show" these days. This comes NO WHERE near TNA's Bound For Glory PPV, but it's one of the better WWE PPV's of the year..

My opinion

I was slightly disappointed that some of my picks weren't chosen but then again it is probably rigged anyways.

I mean come on, 60 odd percent for Booker, I'll quote Ron Simmons "Damn".

Kane vs Umaga

It border lined on utter rubbish in my opinion, it had some decent spots but I wouldn't rate it any higher than a 1 star match which was barely passable.

Tag team 4 way.

Decent effort for these 4 teams but the winners were very predictable and since Cryme Tyme are the only team not to have been decimated by DX in the past few weeks it is obvious they are going to be tag champs soon.

2 stars for a passable match.

Hardy vs Carlito

I was very disappointed Benjamin wasn't voted in, I was almost begging like Shelton was for it to be him. In all fairness to Hardy and Carlito they put on a good match out there, nice high spots and an overall good match.

3 stars for a good match.

Rated RKO vs DX with Bischoff as referee.

Finally, a match we cared about and with a choice I voted for. Solid match but what else do you expect from these four. Bischoff was very good in his tweener then heel role as official despite his awful selling of the spear from Edge.

Good ending and it didn't make either side look weak. Orton is finally getting back on track and Edge is as phenomenal as he has ever been.

3 stars for a good match.

Mickie vs Lita

Errm, all I can say is I hope Lita isn't as lazy in the bedroom as she was in that match. Poor Mickie carried her throughout their short bout, the divajacks were more of a hindrance than a help to the match. I truly thought James was going to win here in light of the storyline and such.

1 star for a match that apart from one solid spot *the finish* would have been a dire match. Botch after botch I hope when James does get the title they actually put her in the ring with decent female grapplers like Victoria & Melina. It's at times like this I wonder why didn't WWE do more for Nora Greenwald (Molly Holly).

Spirit Squad vs Flair & Piper.

How fat has Piper got? Seriously he looks like he has put on 50 lbs in two years. His physique looked worse than my 80 year old Grandfather's. Damn.

I really wanted Dusty to team with Flair, I'd have marked for a Flair & Dream tag run but I guess Piper isn't too bad.

Poor match but then Flair and Kenny could only carry the match so far, Kenny did some nice spots and was by far the best man in the ring. Flair's chop fest and figure fours were predictable but did help the match.

1 and a half star. Dusty's dancing gets half a star.

Main event

Booker vs Cena vs Show.

I was surprised Booker's title was on the line, with the hatred Cena has amongst the smarks and male 18-32 area I expected Cena's title overwhelmingly voted in but I expect it was either rigged or people voted in the thousands for Cena.

World title on the line.

Main issue I had with the match was that the only champion with any credibility was Big Show and he isn't exactly match fit.

When we have King "When have I had a good match?" Booker and John "Stiff Punch" Cena carrying a match with 3 world champions then something is terribly terribly wrong.

I don't mind Cena or Booker but this wasn't a match for them, Van Dam would have been a better choice for ECW champ but I am hoping for Show to hold the belt for a while to be beaten by Punk in a ROH style celebration but that wont happen.

Cena pulled more than his weight and did try hard out there. Booker seemed to try harder than ever but his loss of credibility killed the match before it started.

I actually thought Show was dead when he got hit with those steps, how long does it normally take someone to get up back in the ring after that in a normal match?

2 mins or so.

Show was out for about 10 minutes of the match and spent most of the time on his ass while we had Booker and Cena attempting a match which was mediocre at best.

The true WWE champion Edge, Orton, Michaels or Triple H were in a match that was wasteful for their talent.

The true world champions: Batista, Benoit and Taker weren't there. Damn, SD is in real trouble when I have to name Taker as world title level when he is a part timer.

ECW champion: Meh, RVD I suppose.

Wrong champions, wrong PPV, wrong winner, who truly thinks Booker is the champion of champions? That’s a joke. Batista might have pulled it off and it would have given him the credibility he so desperately needs.

If Chris Jericho was watching this match he'd have been screaming gimmick infringement and rolling over on his wrestling career. I can literally see him crying after watching that match, the true champion of champions is Jericho and that view is staying.

The Undisputed title fiasco was bad enough but at least Jericho pulled it off until Tripper killed it and this was errrm. Down right awful.

Also why do I have to see Kevin Federline again?

Please I beg of you, no more Kfed. The fans didn't even know who it was when he attacked Cena, half the arena didn't react and those who did were like WTF?

Why not have Edge screw Cena again or Heyman or Bischoff or someone that makes some sort of sense. Honestly, I'd have marked for Jericho to screw Cena but that’s all.

2 stars for the effort put in by Cena *yes Cena actually did most of the work here*

Overall PPV rating 1 and a half stars

If it wasn't for Edge, Kenny, Dusty/Flair, Carlito/Hardy this would have been on its death bed. I am so glad sky sports showed this free, trust me don't by the replay of this hell don't even buy the DVD. I thought BFG was bad but by god BFG - 100 would have beaten this rubbish.

Ghastly, utterly ghastly.

Summerslam was bad but this, there isn't a word that will describe it.

Call me harsh but if people thought No mercy was bad, which was excellent and by far WWE's best non Wrestlemania PPV this year then you'll rate this highly in the world of upside down.

Bottom line is this:

How can you have a champions of champions match when only one title is decide, when none of the champions can carry the strap they are holding (Cena and Show just about pass with a push), when the match is awful and when one of the competitors is on his ass for more than half of it?

WWE need to think again, btw who else thinks Maria is by far the best looking diva nowadays. She screamed a bit too much but at least it was something good to look at while the voting was happening. Hell it was the best thing to look at on the show.

God knows what US/Canada paid for this, they pay too much as it is but this was worth 1 dollar and that’s for Maria and Edge on their own.

I thought Cyber Sunday was very dull and predictable. The only thing I really liked was the backstage skit involving Cena and King Booker with Sharmell being offered to Cena for the night.

Having K-Fed show up in the main event was ridiculous. Whatever next? Is Aaron Carter going to help Batista beat Finlay on Smackdown?

I'm K-Fed up with all these D-star celebrities. I give it a 2/5.
