WHY NOT ELIMINATE THE ROSTER AND JUST GIVE US TWO HOURS OF DX? - READER FEEDBACK TO RAW

By PWInsiderXtra Readers on 11/14/2006 8:59 AM
Honestly, what can I say about Raw? It was DX overkill.

Let's see....they buried:

-Cade

-Murdoch

-Viscera

-Haas

-Eugene

-Spirit Squad

-Chris Masters

AND they killed Orton and Edge's spotlight when they won the tag titles. Gee, why not eliminate the whole roster and just have DX for 2 hours?

I will be watching TNA Thursday hoping for a better product!

The scene with Chris Masters being pummeled in the bathroom pretty much summed up not only his impact upon returning to professional wrestling but also the show's level of creativity.

Raw rating (3.0/10.0)

Another disappointing show from Raw just like that of the past couple weeks. However, this one had some spots that were entertaining. But altogether, the show looked like someone made it up in the last minute. I'll start my ranting with DX. Why do DX having to make the heel tag teams look like a bunch of no good wrestlers week after week? And furthermore, why does one of the greatest and most entertaining wrestlers of all time, HBK, look like Triple H's little sidekick. Tonight HBK was in the ring for about 5 minutes and got dominated by supposedly low class heels, but when Triple H gets in, he dominates and gets the win. Also, why can't Randy and Edge destroy some old men legit and not get ran out of the ring time after time by DX. Put these two wrestlers over for once DX!! I'm fed up with DX and can't wait until HBK and HHH split up. Next, Chris Masters and Jerry Lawler should not have had a match, instead replace this unentertaining Master Crap Challenge with an exhilarating Carlito vs Shelton match and not have it end with a roll up and pulling the tights. Johnny Nitro and Jeff Hardy are the best thing going on Raw right now. I'm disappointed that the IC Title was moved two weeks in a row but this is still the best match of the night by far. I'm very excited to see the ladder match next week as long as it is given the time of day. I wont comment on the Spirit Squad match and the women's feud because there's no need. Last, I'm glad John Cena got a good beat down tonight. The match was no good because this guy cannot make a match, let alone a punch, look real if his life depended on it.

Is Vince Russo booking both TNA and WWE?

I just don’t get it. Last week the WWE put on arguably one of the worst shows ever and they follow it up with one that was equally as terrible. The Survivor Series is just under two weeks away so they devote this show to DX and their hackneyed roster burying, toilet humor antics instead of building up the matches and creating interest in them for the PPV. It is one thing to announce the matches on WWE.com (to a small portion of your audience) but it’s another to get the whole audience to care about them and to want to spend their money on watching them. You certainly didn’t get the impression from this week’ s RAW that a big PPV was just around the corner, which is just baffling. Again, I don’t want to torture myself by recounting the crud that was on this show, suffice to say that I don’t understand why they had another IC title change (or why they took it off Hardy in the first place) or why they bothered to have a “big main event” like Cena vs Umaga to blow it off with a DQ in just a couple of minutes. The only thing they got right was putting the tag titles on Edge & Orton although this was a week too late.

Overall - just more mind numbingly stupid, illogical, uncreative, counter productive nonsense. Smackdown and ECW just HAVE to be better than this AND focus on the PPV otherwise this is proof that Vince McMahon has officially lost the plot.

I knew this was going to be a dull Raw when we got DX beating jobbers in a handicap match for the four hundred and seventy eighth time. Sprit Squad vs Highlanders? A bloody masterlock challenge (with the ancient Jerry Lawler putting up a much better fight than most of the young wrestlers ever do)?

Even if beating Jerry Lawler in a masterlock challenge did give Masters the rub, HHH took it right back again when he laid him out in ten seconds just for comedy laughs.

Umaga's long built up winning streak comes to an end for no good reason, although I'm sure they'll do the tired old cliché of just saying he's never been pinned and never submitted instead.

The DX "comedy" segments are painful to watch. It's about as far away from the stuff the original DX were doing back in 98 as you can get. Perhaps TNA need to get Jim Cornette to cut a shoot promo about old men acting like teenagers...

Are the Carlito and Torrie segments actually leading anywhere? Back when they did the Jericho Trish and Christian storyline, that built into a really excellent feud. At the moment these "romance" segments just seem to be there because they have no idea what else to do with Carlito.

The Hardy / Nitro match was quite good, but they’re not really doing anything to keep me interested in the feud. They keep having matches, sometimes Nitro cheats and manages to win one, other times he doesn’t. Interesting and riveting stuff.

And at the top of the card... a tag team with a combined age of over 100 years old. At least they lost the belts, but what difference does it make when the belts haven't meant anything for years?

WWE of late is either painfully dull, or painfully bad. Either way it's painful.
