FANS NOT HAPPY WITH THE LACK OF ACTION - READER FEEDBACK TO TNA

By PWInsiderXtra Readers on 12/1/2006 12:34 PM
1. I loved the Sting/Abyss standoff and their talk in the ring. It was different and I think Sting and Abyss have great in ring chemistry.

2. I hated the extra-short number 1 contender X Division bout. That was horrible booking and X Division wrestlers should NEVER be limited to 3 minute matches. That was f****** ridiculous!

3. Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle teaming up?? I hated that as well. A week ago these two hated each other. I'm supposed to believe that just so they can face each other they'll be kissing each other's butts till then?? I don't know how fans in the Impact Zone liked that.

4. Who the hell decided to remove Jeremy Borash from interviewing?! That blond girl was horrible and she looked out of place. Jeez, could commentary set aside one minute to introduce her or something?

5. A bikini contest with Eric Young??!! WTF? I already hate that f****** angle. TNA should worry about pushing Roode and not having him lose to Eric Young, a comedy act. How are fans supposed to take Roode seriously as a heel if TNA doesn't care about that. Suddenly I miss Jeff Jarrett very much.

Overall, this was a horrible Impact episode, and I love TNA, so that's saying something. TNA has awesome wrestlers, and an endless potential, but the booking seemed horrible this week. It's not WWE horrible yet, but I think TNA wants to be like WWE too much, and that will be their downfall if they are not careful.

There is no doubt that was a Russo booked show , about 10 minutes of rushed in-ring action, and the remainder was skits and interviews, and not very good ones at that. The VKM stuff is just crap, those 2 clowns can't wrestle so they are entertainers now ? Great, can't wait for this trend to continue, good to see TNA is on the right track emphasizing their in-ring strengths and providing solid, lengthy matches.

Thanks for your time.

Impact this week was really just a mixed bag of stuff I liked, didn't like & really just had me scratching my head.

-I like what they were doing with Abyss lately. He's been the Most Valuable Player of TNA for a long time so he deserves a run with the championship & they actually have a good storyline going showing that he's got a human side to him instead of just being this big monster (ala Kane & early Mankind).

-Chris Sabin was always just missing that "it" factor to put him in the same category of X division people as Joe/Daniels/Styles so I like the heel turn. Plus the way that whenever Sabin got in the match, the other two went straight after him as well. And man, please let this led to a Jerry Lynn return to the ring.

-I don't mind Nash being the "manager" of Shelley (look how much he's put him over) & Starr...but leave those type of skits out the show. They were as stupid as Cena's toiler humor.

-They need to find a better way to use Ron Killings (Hoyt too, but Killings is more talented) than filler matches. And the ending with the instant replay was stupid...I liked that they keep building tension between Starr & Shelley but this was a stupid way to do it.

-We already have enough bad interviewers & bimbo women in wrestling thanks to WWE...he don't need them here in TNA as well.

-Since when does Traci have the power to fire people? Eric Young & Traci in a bikini contest? Do I sound stupid for saying that? Keep Christy & Borash doing the backstage segments.

-A.J. Styles could benefit from a heel turn but the way they're doing it doesn't make sense to me. Now all of a sudden A.J. needs help dealing with things from his past? Again, something else that isn't making sense.

-And the one thing that happened that made the most sense last night was overkill for me at the end. Yeah, Joe can't win the match because he wasn't one of the participants...we didn't need Konnan, Jim Cornette, some lawyer (where's Clarence Mason when you need him?), a referee, Tenay & West all trying to talk over one another to figure that one out.

-And lastly, I may be in the minority but I enjoyed the V.K.M. segments this week. I agree about what they say about DX & it's not like they're the first federation to call out & mock their their competition (Billionaire Ted ANYONE?) in public. And it was funnier than that Cookiegate crap. This angle is good when they're playing it up for comedy & not trying to be serious about it. "Vince McMahon, come out with your pants up!"

Like I said, some I like...some I didn't. I think Russo is getting the right idea about some characters but going about it the wrong way. I missed last week's show but this weeks was a big step backwards from the debut show I saw.
