THIS SHOW MADE ME WANT TO WATCH TNA, FIRST BATCH OF READER FEEDBACK TO RAW

By PWInsider Readers on 1/9/2007 10:09 AM

I can honestly say that I haven’t seen an episode of Monday Night Raw that was as bad as tonight’s episode. It’s possible that Vince didn’t want too much going on with the BCS Championship Game on at the same time. Fortunately, anyone who was watching the Raw tonight probably flipped over to watch the football game instead.

After another post-PPV “I survived the odds” diatribe from John Cena, we’re told that he’s going to face The Great Khali. Immediately, thousands of die-hard fans have changed over to see the Gators seemingly doing the impossible to Jim Tressel. There is no one in the world who wants to see The Great Khali wrestle. Vince, on the other hand, not only disagrees, but he puts him in as the main event.

The only thing worse than watching the Great Khali wrestle is listening to his give a promo. I literally didn’t understand one word that he said. Neither JR nor Lawler put over the fact that they couldn’t understand what he was saying. No joke was made of it. So basically, it went over as a bad promo. Except not just any bad promo, but (arguably, but without exaggeration) the worst promo of all time.

The worst part of this all is that The Great Khali obliterated John Cena. Even after a chair shot, The Great Khali barely staggered back. Doesn’t he deserve the title shot? If anything has ever made a champion look weak, Khali’s “no-sell” behavior did it. Based on what happened, John Cena should not be champion.

Donald Trump vs. Rosie O’Donnell was horrendous. I’m definitely no fan of Rosie, but the way they portrayed her was low. Why Vince McMahon would want to arbitrarily inject himself in this feud is not surprising, but it IS sad. I didn’t get it, either; were we supposed to think those were the real media personalities in the ring? Ugh, I can’t think of words intense enough to describe how I feel! However, the strength of my opinion pales in comparison to the opinions voiced in Saint Louis, so I’ll be brief: it was too long, it was executed poorly, and overall, it sucked.

The night was just awful. They showed such a significant portion of New Year’s Revolution that there was little point in buying the “special” encore presentation. (What’s so special about it, anyway?) They literally showed the same recap of the Rated RKO vs. DX match twice in the show, not to mention the times they showed it in the commercial. And with a rematch between Chris Masters and Carlito that was practically as long as the one the night before, one can only ask, “what’s the point?”

The small things irritated me all night. While Victoria and Mickie James rolled around outside of the ring, Maria and Melina (the latter of which is, surprisingly, just as bad as the former) made a mockery of the women’s division in the ring. Cade and Murdoch need to be kept to Heat since they can’t get any heat on Raw. Kenny’s match with Jeff Hardy was hardly memorable and the interferences were overly-predictable. The only two things I even smiled at were Eugene’s reaction to The Great Khali and the phrase “double double E;” everything else was a pain to get through.

2007 is not starting off well, and Triple H’s injury is not going to help matters at all. Weak storylines, boring wrestles and predictable plots don’t attract viewers. I can only pray that things get better.

Because right now? Raw sucks. Enough said.

One of the worst "wrestling" shows I've watched in a long time. I haven't watched RAW for it's full two hours in about a month or two but decided to give it a chance after watching the recent PPV. What a waste of two hours. The wrestling was sub-par as usual, Khali is on RAW, supposedly to take Trips' place (terrible), and don't even get me started on the "Rosie"/"Donald" debacle.

I'm so glad Vince was at ringside to hear the chants hurled at him. "TNA!", "VKM" (VoodooKinMafia), "This match sucks", and "We want wrestling" were all chanted, which was music to my ears. Listen up Vince and give the fans what they want. A lot of them are sticking with you out of loyalty but TNA is really looking good to a lot of them after having to put up with this crappy RAW.

I'm pretty much down with RAW for now. SD and TNA are the only true wrestling shows that are out there, that are entertaining. I got three freakin' words for you, Vince and all the numbskulls that are helping you to run your company into the ground:

TNA! TNA! TNA!

Raw sunk to a new low tonight with the insult of a match that occurred between "Rosie" and "Donald Trump". I've continued to watch Raw for the past few years, despite the fact that there's rarely a good match of storyline going on, but this might be the last straw.

Who honestly this kind of stuff (fake Rosie vs. fake Trump) is entertaining? Rob Conway, a decent worker with a good look, can't get on Raw except to get "fired" and this dreck is what is put on the air? I bet guys like Val Venis, Shelton Benjamin and Super Crazy are thrilled that they can't buy a decent storyline while this kind of stuff goes on.

I might limit my WWE viewing to Smackdown from now on, since I actually still enjoy that show.
