WSX IMPROVES, ECW DOES NOT - READER FEEDBACK TO BOTH SHOWS

By PWInsiderXtra Readers on 2/7/2007 10:30 AM
The second episode for WSX was way better than the first. The problem with the first one was that it was an extreme battle royal or as good ol' Buck Woodward says a battle royale with cheese that turned into a ladder match. This had more of the solid in-ring junior-heavyweight style that you see on the indy circuit today wither it is Ring of Honor, Jersey All Pro, Square Circle Wrestling in Syracuse or Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in California rather than the big men you see in WWE.

The first match was a display of why Human Tornado is going to be one of the wrestlers to have a success story from Wrestling Society X despite the success of the company. The after-match confrontation between Kaos, the former Jesus, Luke Hawx and Al Katrazz was fine because it continued an angle, the table bump looked legit and as we know now from WSXtra Episode II, it will lead to a TLC match next week.

The second match between Horiguchi and Yoshino of Dragon Gate fame and the duo of Disco Machine and Joey Ryan of PWG fame was good. For those of you who do not know of Horiguchi and Yoshino, go on Google Video and look up Dragon Gate and see if you can find the six-man tag they were a part of at ROH's Supercard of Honor. While they were not given the time to do all that, they gave a 4 minute sample platter of their talent. Joey Ryan is charismatic and I expect him in WWE sooner than later.

The title match was too short but when you are given three segments and 30 minutes of a tv slot, you have no choice to have a short title match. Hopefully they will have a HUGE World title angle that leads to a match lasting the entire episode on day. The casket spot was cool despite it being over the top. Thankfully that was the only over the top moment this week.

The video packages were also good but Fabian Kaelin got to go. He is Don West on speed.

I only need to say two words for ECW's show tonight.

It sucked.

I miss the old ECW, and maybe Vince supposedly cares about making this his, but if he wants this to be a success, let it be the old ECW. I have no problems with Lashley on ECW, because he is virtually new to the organization, but keep Test, Bob Holly, and Snitsey on the other two brands. If McMahon wants the ECW to start getting a name, have either Sabu or Sandman win in an upset over Jamal, ooops, I meant to say Umaga, or Great Khali.

Is it me, but I don't understand why McMahon will not let Monty Brown use his real name? Marques Corbon does not work.

Back to Lashley, I would like him, script wise, to help out the originals, and get Vince irate. But that is something, I would consider. Then again, what do I know?

Snitsky? SNITSKY? We go from Test to Snitsky? Why not just call ECW the "Island Of Unwanted Workers"?

I want to give major props to Sandman for actually showing some intensity in the ring while Vince was belittling the ECW Originals. At least someone still cares about how he comes across on TV.  Can't say the same for the rest of the people on the "C" show.
