TNA RUNS OFF POTENTIAL FANS - READER FEEDBACK TO AGAINST ALL ODDS

By PWInsiderXtra Readers on 2/12/2007 11:01 AM
I invited over some friends tonight who were interested in seeing TNA for the first time. After an hour THEY LEFT!

I was gonna write a long feedback going through every match, but that pretty much says it all. Constant updates on Eric Young and his hotel adventure, Fat Oily guy wrestling, Bob Backland screaming and lots of interference in the main event. Thanks Russo for killing TNA.

You really enjoyed this PPV?

My group gets together to watch all the PPV (splitting the cost to save money). We usually run between 4-7 people (tonight we were 6) and this was, without a doubt, one of the most boring PPVs ever. It wasn't bad like ECW December to forgetitwassobad. It was just boring. The matches weren't exciting and were quite predictable. There were two times where we seriously considered breaking out a poker game and leaving the show on in the background. This thing just stunk of Russo up and down and he just doesn't have whatever he used to have while in WWE.

If next month's PPV isn't good, I don't know if I'll shell out my cash for TNA PPVs anymore. At least not until the stories get better.

This was not one of TNA's better PPV showings, but I did not feel that it was bad or horrible. It was a mixed bag of good and bad. The preshow and LAX vs. Team 3D streetfight were good matches. The Rhino vs. AJ Styles, Austin Starr vs. Senshi, and Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Sabin matches were not up to par with what they are capable of. Especially the AJ vs Rhino match, those three matches were surprisingly slow considering that all of them usually put together faster paced matches. Sabin vs. Lynn wasn't bad, but it was much slower and below the expectations of what these two can do. Hoyt vs Torborg was just for publicity, so I don't expect much from this match and it was only decent. Hemme vs Big Fat Oily Guy was a comedy match that was simply filler. The Shelley/Nash/ Sonjay/Lethal segments had their funny moments. However, the last three matches: Petey and Gail vs. Storm and Jacqueline, Sting vs. Abyss, and Christian vs. Angle were solid matches. Petey was working very hard and so was Sting and Abyss. I don't really care that Sting and Abyss was a so-called "garbage" match because it was entertaining. Christian and Angle had a really good match but it did suffer from too much interference and ref bumps. Also, Angle looked a little too strong kicking out of all the unprettiers. Unlike WWE that has so many PPVs a year and only half if not less of them being any good, having one not-so-great TNA PPV won't make me stop watching the product nor should this particularly PPV make anyone stop watching the product. Against All Odds is not one of TNA's major PPVs anyways and this one does not represent what the brand is truly capable of. I generally get a good if not great PPV with TNA, which is more than I can say about most, not all, of WWE PPVs.

The writeup of the first 2/3rds of the PPV was so horrible - meaning the show, not the PWI writeup - that I'm not even going to bother buying the replay. This is the first time in 8 months I have skipped buying a TNA PPV. Why? Because the show has been terrible lately. After reading the coverage I've decided that I'll save my money and my time for when TNA decides to give me something that isn't bad WWE or WCW re-treaded nonsense.

I am fed up. The only way I know to let TNA know that is to stop giving them my money. In fact, I'm not even going to waste my time downloading a bootleg of this show. Someone call me when Russo gets fired and there is no - I repeat, no - chance of me seeing Christy Hemme being humiliated and abused just to get on TV and do something beyond cutaway announcements.

I watched the show tonight instead of going live. I think the last two matches were good and the Jerry Lynn-Chris Sabin match was good. Team 3-D-LAX match seemed to be a little off I wanted them to tear the house down.. The only thing I remember from the Christy Hemme match was reading the sign that said "WE ARE WRESTLING" when they have "matches" like that, I don't think so... I wish they would stick to wrestling during the PPV'S on do all the stupid Vince Russo inspired skits on free t.v... All in all it was not a bad night would rather have been there live but at least I didn't go to bed feeling like I got "screwed" like the last and hopefully no more ECW ppv's...
