Last night's Raw was one of the best I have seen in a long time. What made it so great for me was that for the first time that I can remember, WWE actually put some emphasis on storyline history. For example, in Carlito's Cabana, they mentioned the fact that Carlito had beaten John Cena for the U.S. Title three years ago--when was the last time we saw WWE refer to a past title change in a current storyline? And how about J.R. running down the title history of King Booker before his match with Jerry "The King" Lawler--and how about the fact that J.R. mentioned that The King had over 100 titles during his career. I'm a wrestling history fan, and I marked out big time when I heard these references. That made the night for me.
Where was Jeff Hardy? Last week, he's hitting Umaga upside the head with a chair, this week, he's nowhere to be found? And on top of that, they turned Umaga into a total babyface by having him kill the second-rate Bruno wannabe.
Other than that, it was an okay show, but Cena bragging about being champ since September doesn't mean much when you think of how many times he's been pinned on TV.
